Credit Cards
Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and major restaurants and shops.
Foreign currency can be exchanged at any bank. The monetary unit in Lebanon is the Lebanese Pound (LBP), and the exchange rate is pegged at US$ 1 = LBP 1,500.

US dollars are accepted everywhere to the point of being interchangeable with the Lebanese Pound.

Passports & Visa Requirements

Most foreign visitors to Lebanon need a valid entry visa to the country. Many visitors can obtain a visa upon arrival at the Lebanese airport/border (see the list of countries below) while others should apply through the Lebanese Embassy in their country of residence before traveling.


- Citizens of the following countries are granted a 1-month direct entry visa at the airport/border: 

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Holland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Great Britain, Switzerland, Norway, United States of America, Canada, Australia, Andorra, Japan, South Korea, Cyprus, Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, Malta, Iceland, Chile, Brazil, Argentine, Venezuela, Mexico, China, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Singapore, Liechtenstein and Turkey.

- All citizens of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council countries), Jordan, and Syria are granted a 3-month renewable direct entry visa at the airport/border. This also applies to businesspeople from Egypt and Iraq.


By resolution of the Arab League, no Arab state recognizes the validity of a passport containing an Israeli stamp.

Business Hours 

The official weekend in Lebanon is Saturday and Sunday for most businesses.

Banks are open from 8:00 a.m to 2:30 p.m Mondays to Fridays and from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m on Saturdays.

Beirut International Airport is easily accessible as major airlines serve Beirut with frequent flights. A wide selection of international hotels is available to exhibitors through specially negotiated travel packages.
